The Pharmacy & Medical Museum of Texas is an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. 100% of all contributions are used directly to operate the museum, preserve our multi-generational medical collections, and build accessible community exhibits.
Because of our independent 501(c)(3) status, your financial and asset contributions are fully tax-deductible. Please consult your tax advisor regarding eligible deductions for your specific circumstances. In accordance with IRS regulations, no goods or services can be provided, in whole or in part, in exchange for your contribution.

Feature Campaign: The Elevator Accessibility Project
We are thrilled to announce that our current major fundraising campaign—installing a full-building elevator—has officially reached its halfway mark!
This essential infrastructure upgrade will make our beautifully restored second-floor exhibits (including the early medical doctor's office and historic dentist office) completely accessible to all visitors, seniors, and school groups. We need your help to cross the finish line! Please consider designating your gift to the Elevator Fund to help us secure the remaining matching funds required to begin construction.
Ways to Give Now
We hope to establish a permanent museum endowment in the near future to protect this 180-year legacy. In the meantime, we would be enormously grateful for immediate support in the following areas:
- Direct Campaign Giving: Financial contributions specifically earmarked to complete the Elevator Accessibility Project.
- Operational Funding: Cash or check donations to support current operations and future exhibit maintenance.
- Historical Artifacts: Authentic antique medical tools, vintage apothecary bottles, early Texas documentation, and physical pieces of local history.
- Volunteer Support: Giving your time to welcome touring guests, help archive collections, or assist with community events.
- Property & Appreciated Assets: Real estate donations (land, homes, buildings), royalties from oil and gas production, or gifts of appreciated stocks and assets.
- In-Kind Goods & Services: Professional services, construction materials, printing, and event supplies that offset operational costs.
Commemorative & Tribute Giving
An excellent way to anchor your contribution is by celebrating a milestone or honoring a loved one. We warmly welcome gifts made:
- In Memory or Honor: Pay tribute to a family member, a pioneering local doctor, or a community veteran.
- Commemorating Special Events: Mark a graduation, wedding, anniversary, promotion, or retirement.
- Holiday & Group Contributions: Coordinate a combined corporate matching gift, family collection, or local club donation.
Planned Giving for the Future
Ensure that Texas pharmaceutical history remains protected for generations to come. We welcome conversations with donors and estate planners regarding future-focused giving methods:
- Bequests and Planned Estate Gifts
- Life Insurance Policies and Retirement Plan Assets
- Charitable Remainder Trusts or Lead Trusts
- Charitable Gift Annuities
- Retained Life Estates or Wealth Replacement Trusts
Thank you for your incredible generosity and your commitment to helping preserve the unique history of the Pharmacy & Medical Museum of Texas!
